KIOSK Budapest: Danube Terrace, Hungarian Classics

KIOSK sits right on Március 15. tér with a terrace overlooking the Danube, the Elisabeth Bridge, and a Gothic-Baroque church next door. Ask KIOSK whether it’s dog-friendly and the answer is “fully”: dogs are welcomed with fresh water and plenty of affection. The kitchen serves Hungarian staples (chicken paprikash, cottage cheese dumplings, beef cheek), pauses between 16:30 and 17:30, and closes at 22:00. Szabad Bisztró: Budapest’s Original Vegan Gastropub

Szabad Bisztró opened in 2019 on Király utca as Budapest’s first fully plant-based gastropub, and added a second location, Szabad Új Hely, on Víg utca in Józsefváros in September 2023. In 2021 the original Király utca bistro won the Év Kutyabarát Étterme (Dog-Friendly Restaurant of the Year) award.

Café Alessio: Buda-Side Italian Trattoria

Alessio has run for around 15 years on Pasaréti út in Buda’s II district, known for hand-made pasta (up to 30 varieties, made fresh in-house daily) and a seasonal Mediterranean garden. It is listed as kutyabarát (dog-friendly), so your dog can come along for the pasta.
