As winter’s chill recedes, Alcsút Arboretum becomes the stage for the heralding of spring with its magnificent Snowdrop Festival. This event presents a rare opportunity to wander amidst a vast, two-and-a-half-hectare carpet of snow-white blooms, showcasing an impressive collection of seven snowdrop species and twenty-four varieties. It’s a spectacle that stands unmatched across Hungary, promising an unforgettable visual treat for all visitors.

Event Information

When: The festival kicks off on February 17, 2024, welcoming guests every day from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Since the blooming of snowdrops is weather-dependent, the exact start date of the festival and updates will be announced on our official Facebook page and website. The flowering period is expected to last 4-5 weeks, but for the most current information, keep an eye on our social media updates.

Guided Tours: Available upon request within opening hours. Please call +36 22 353 219 to book, ideally two weeks in advance. Note that groups arriving more than 15 minutes late need to inform via phone; otherwise, we cannot guarantee the availability of the guided tour.

Ticket Prices

Enjoy discounts for pensioners (with ID), children under 18, students (with valid student ID), teachers, adults accompanying families with two or more children (max. 2 adults), and groups of more than ten school or kindergarten children, including all accompanying adults.

Special Registration Tickets are available for residents of Alcsút (with proof of address), persons with disabilities and one accompanying person, children under 3, members of MABOSZ, guests of the research house, educators accompanying groups (up to 3 for kindergarten groups, 2 for school groups), employees of DINPI and other national park administrations in Hungary and their close relatives.

  • Group (Adults): 2000 HUF per person
  • Group (Concession): 1400 HUF per person
  • Registration Fee: 100 HUF per person

  1. Parking: Consider parking at the Pancho Arena in Felcsút, which offers ample space.

  • Wheelchair users are advised to visit with assistance due to challenging terrain.
  • The Arboretum closes during storms (light rain is fine).
  • Heavy snow may cover emerging snowdrops.
  • Bicycles and pets are not allowed within the Arboretum.

Protect Our Snowdrops: Since 2005, snowdrops have been protected in Hungary, with a natural value of 10,000 HUF. Picking even a single flower is subject to fines.
