Thermal baths in Budapest are the one tourist cliché that actually holds up, and locals treat them as basic infrastructure.

This is where we keep everything about soaking in Hungary: the big Budapest names like Széchenyi, Gellért and Rudas, plus the countryside baths most visitors never hear about, from cave baths to small-town spas that locals drive across the country for.

The difference here is that we actually use these places. We know which baths are full of tourists, which belong to grandpas with chess boards, and which are worth crossing the city for. No brochure language, no recycled press photos.
