- Where the late baths are
Budapest always has a thermal bath open until 22:00, whatever night you land: the public baths take turns, from Rudas on Monday to Paskál on Sunday. For a soak after midnight there is one answer, Rudas night bathing, on Friday and Saturday from 22:00 to 03:00 for 15,000 HUF (~$46).
The rota is the useful part, because no single bath is late every night. Pick the night first, then the bath, then decide whether you want a quiet soak, a rooftop view or a party.

Prices are in HUF, which is what you pay at the cash desk or in the webshop. Converted at 1 USD = 325 HUF, the ECB rate on 2 November 2026. Rates move, so treat the dollar figures as indicative.

The Gellért Bath is not on the list: it has been closed since 1 October 2025, and the operator expects it to reopen in 2028. Our Gellért page covers where to soak instead.
The 22:00 trap: you get less time than the sign says
Rudas, Lukács, Dandár, Széchenyi, Pesterzsébet and Paskál all run the same two rules: the cash desk closes one hour before closing time, and the pools have to be cleared 20 minutes before it. On a 22:00 night that means no tickets after 21:00 and out of the water at 21:40.
So the late night is really an early evening that runs on. Arrive at 20:00 and you get a relaxed hour and a half; arrive at 20:55 and you pay a full ticket for 45 minutes of water. At Széchenyi on a Friday, the cash desk at the steam entrance closes at 21:00.
On 22:00 nights the operator counted an average of 186 guests inside a bath at 21:00 and 58 at 22:00 (BGYH 2025 report); our crowds guide has the full figures.
Rudas: the only real night bath
Rudas is the one place where bathing and midnight overlap. On Friday and Saturday the night session runs from 22:00 to 03:00 on a single 15,000 HUF ticket, and it is 14+ like every Rudas visit. The ticket covers the rooftop panorama pool and the 16th-century Turkish bath downstairs.
We cover the whole night, what the ticket includes and what is closed, in our Rudas night bathing guide. Monday is the other late Rudas option: the co-ed Turkish bath, wellness and sauna world stay open until 22:00, on the 12,000 HUF weekday ticket.

Sparty: a party that happens to be wet
Sparty takes over Széchenyi on Saturday nights for most of the year, from 21:30 to 02:00, with the doors closing to new arrivals at 01:00. It is 18+, tickets are sold in euros and priced per date, from €69 for a Basic ticket on the dates now on sale. Only the two outdoor pools are in use; the saunas and indoor pools that make Széchenyi a bath are not part of the night.
Book it for the DJ, the lights and the crowd, not for the water. Ticket tiers, SpartyPay and the queue are in our Sparty guide.
Lukács and Dandár: the cheap last two hours
Both baths sell an afternoon ticket valid only in the last two hours before closing, and unlike Széchenyi’s evening rate it is not limited to Budapest residents. On their late nights that window starts at 20:00:
- Lukács on Tuesday: 3,800 HUF (~$12) instead of 7,000. The sauna world is open from 14:00 to closing on weekdays, and on Tuesdays the program sauna sometimes hosts rituals at 18:00, 19:00 and 20:00; ask at the cash desk on the day.
- Dandár on Thursday: 2,500 HUF (~$8) for the thermal pools. The 4,500 HUF komplex ticket adds the sauna world and the outdoor pools. Dandár does not admit anyone under 14.
Remember the cash desk rule: the two-hour ticket is only on sale until 21:00, and the pools close at 21:40, so buy it at 20:00 sharp.
Széchenyi on a Friday
Friday is the one night Széchenyi stays open until 22:00, and the outdoor pools in the dark, under the floodlit yellow facade, are the reason to come. There is no evening discount for visitors: the “esti belépő” in the price list is a Budapest-resident rate, so you pay 14,800 HUF (~$46) with a locker, or more for fast-track entry bought online.
Who each night suits
- A first night in Budapest, with a view: Rudas night bathing on Friday or Saturday.
- The classic outdoor bath after dark: Széchenyi on Friday, arriving by 20:00.
- Locals’ water on a budget: Dandár on Thursday or Lukács on Tuesday, on the last-two-hours ticket.
- A Monday that needs saving: Rudas until 22:00, with the Turkish bath co-ed from 11:00.
- A party, not a soak: Sparty on Saturday.
- A Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday evening: Csillaghegy, Pesterzsébet or Paskál, all well outside the center.
Getting home after a late bath
A 22:00 close leaves you well inside metro hours: the M2, M3 and M4 now leave the center for the last time around midnight on weekdays and around 1 a.m. at weekends. After that, tram 6 runs around the clock on the Grand Boulevard and night buses cover the rest of the city.
Leaving Rudas at 03:00, the bath’s own access notes list night buses 907 and 973 as the ones that stop nearby. Buy your ticket before you board: on night buses a single bought from the driver costs 700 HUF. Our night bus guide has the main routes from the center and where to catch them.
Source: last metro times on BKK’s night metro page, tram 6 and the on-board ticket price on BKK night transport, night buses at Rudas on the Rudas hours page, all read on 3 November 2026.

Good to know
Which Budapest thermal baths are open late?
One public bath is open until 22:00 every night of the week: Rudas on Monday, Lukács on Tuesday, Csillaghegy on Wednesday, Dandár on Thursday, Széchenyi on Friday, Pesterzsébet on Saturday and Paskál on Sunday. Rudas also runs night bathing from 22:00 to 03:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
Is any Budapest bath open after midnight?
Yes, Rudas. Its night bathing runs on Friday and Saturday from 22:00 to 03:00, with the rooftop panorama pool, the Turkish bath, the swimming pool and the wellness section open, for 15,000 HUF. Sparty at Széchenyi runs until 02:00 on Saturdays, but that is a party ticket, not a bath ticket.
Is there a cheaper evening ticket at the Budapest baths?
At Lukács and Dandár, yes: an afternoon ticket valid in the last two hours before closing costs 3,800 HUF at Lukács (Monday to Thursday) and 2,500 HUF at Dandár (weekdays), and anyone can buy it. Széchenyi's evening ticket is sold only to Budapest residents, so visitors pay the full 14,800 HUF on a Friday night.
What time should I arrive for a late bath in Budapest?
By 20:00 on a 22:00 night. The cash desks close one hour before closing time and the pools have to be left 20 minutes before it, so 22:00 really means last tickets at 21:00 and out of the water at 21:40.
How do I get back to my hotel after a late bath?
After a 22:00 close the metro is still running: the M2, M3 and M4 leave the center for the last time around midnight on weekdays and about 1 a.m. at weekends. After Rudas night bathing, night buses 907 and 973 stop near the bath, and tram 6 runs around the clock on the Grand Boulevard.
